2014 Classes and Workshops

One of the things I enjoy most about photography is sharing my enthusiasm, knowledge and experiences about photography in the classes and workshops I teach and the presentations that I make. Photography learning never ends. We must challenge ourselves to expand our horizons, and must continually hone our “craft,” our skills and vision. On my website I've just posted the workshops and classes I will be teaching in the first half of the year. Here are the highlights:

Big and LittleCharleston, South Carolina
March 16th - 20th

Join me and my good friend and fellow photographer, Colleen Henderson for a photographic exploration of charming Charleston, SC and the nearby surrounding area. Charleston, founded in 1670 and one of the oldest cities in the US, offers an abundance of photographic opportunities. From the warm and friendly southern hospitality, to the historic antebellum mansions, plantations and battlefield sites, and the breathtaking panoramic coastal views, along with the unique low country landscape, this area has something to please each of us.

LightroomLightroom 5 Intensive
February 14th, 15th, 16th

Lightroom (LR) is THE software program of choice for both organization and management of your thousands, or tens of thousands of digital images, as well as for image editing. If you’re new to LR, you will leave the workshop with a full understanding and practical experience using this extremely powerful, but user-friendly software. If you’ve been using LR, but not taking full advantage of all of its power, you will gain a greater in-depth knowledge of LR and learn many of the short-cuts and tricks that will enable you to become a power-user of this amazing program. Belvedere at DawnPanoramas - From Shooting to Processing
March 8th

For many subjects that we shoot, the panoramic format adds a degree of realism and impact. While we can always crop an image into a panoramic aspect ratio, panoramas require a different way of seeing, a different approach to composition, specific shooting and camera setup techniques and software knowledge to “stitch” together the multiple images that will ultimately make up your composite photograph. This workshop will be a combination of classroom instruction, in-the-field shooting and then returning to the classroom for instruction on stitching and image processing. More information about the "Panoramas" workshop can be found "HERE."

Photoshop logoPhotoshop - Adjustment Layers, Curves and Masks
March 29th

The three Photoshop tools that I use in editing each and every one of my images are adjustment layers, curves and masks. If they are not an important part of your image editing, and you’d like to take your image editing beyond where you are, gaining a thorough knowledge and understanding of adjustment layers, curves and masks is the answer. LightroomLightroom - Beyond Lightroom Intensive
April 19th

This workshop was created for those who have taken my "Lightroom Intensive" workshop, or who are advanced Lightroom users. If you want to take your Lightroom skills to the next level, this workshop is for you. The purpose of this workshop is to go beyond LR’s basic capabilities and focus on advanced LR features that you may not even be aware of. Many tips and tricks will be discussed and it will be an great opportunity to ask all those questions that are are keeping you from becoming the ultimate power user of this incredible image management and image editing program. More information about the "Beyond Lightroom Intensive" workshop can be found "HERE."
